Dangerous applications for kids In an undercover sting, authorities in Florida recently arrested 21 men accused of soliciting minors – both boys and girls – for sex through the use of social media apps, and officials in California have concerns that these applications may be misused by area youth. Authorities are urging parents to be aware of just what apps may be on their children’s phones (or tablets) and what some of them may really be used for. While some of the apps may seem innocent – they can be used to expose children to everything from online bullying to unwanted sexual messages. Certain apps can even give your child’s location.
