Apply for Measure U Oversight Committee

itizens of Hemet and its periphery are invited to apply for seven seats on the Citizen Oversight Committee for the recently enacted Ordinance No. 1918, Measure U, the one-cent general fund tax increase.
The Citizen Oversight Committee will independently review and advise upon the city’s proposed expenditures of Measure U Funds, the actual expenditures of Measure U Funds, and review the annual audit conducted of Measure U Funds as required by the Ordinance.
The Committee is advisory only and reports directly to the City Council. The City Council encourages community members who reside within the city limits, its sphere of influence or who own a business having its primary offices located within the city limits, to apply for this important oversight committee.
Interested parties must be willing to attend quarterly meetings and serve for a minimum of two years. Eligible community members must reside within the city limits or the sphere of influence or own a business having its primary offices located within the city limits. A majority (four or more) of the seven committee members shall be residents of the City of Hemet.
