PERSON FOUND DEAD IN CAR
One person was found dead in own car Dec. 21 in the 25100 block of W. Posey Drive in Valle Vista. The deceased was involved in a minor collision with a metal patio cover; however, it was not known if the person died before or after the collision. The details of whether the deceased died of natural causes. An investigation is continuing.

DRUG USE POSSIBLE FACTOR IN MAJOR INJURY COLLISION; DRIVER IS SUSPECT IN ANOTHER CRIME
A major injury traffic collision on Dec. 22 at the intersection of State Street and Cottonwood Avenue is suspected to be caused by drug use.
The initial investigation by San Jacinto police determined a Pontiac Grand Prix was traveling north on State Street at a high rate of speed. At the intersection of Cottonwood Avenue, the vehicle crossed the centerline into the opposing lanes of travel and struck several vehicles which were stopped at a stoplight, causing a chain reaction collision involving seven vehicles.
The Grand Prix’s driver sustained major injuries, and several other drivers sustained minor injuries. Two people were transported to a local hospital by ambulance. Drug use is suspected to be a factor in the collision. Further investigation revealed the Grand Prix’s driver was a suspect in an earlier crime which occurred in the city of Hemet. State Street was closed for about two hours while the collision was investigated.

GOLD EXCHANGE ROBBERY SUSPECT ARRESTED
An arrest was made regarding an armed robbery that occurred at Crown Gold Exchange at 326 S. Sanderson Ave., in Hemet on Dec. 15. According to witnesses, one subject entered the business wearing a black wig, glasses and a baseball cap. The subject immediately brandished a handgun and robbed an employee at gunpoint. The suspect then left the business and was seen running north into an apartment complex where he entered a dark-colored vehicle.
This robbery appeared to be related to a series of armed robberies occurring in several different jurisdictions. Hemet police investigators collaborated with those agencies and on Friday, Dec. 16, Long Beach Police Department arrested Dylan Watson in the 5100 block of West Century Boulevard in Inglewood. Watson is currently being held on several counts of robbery at the Long Beach City Jail, with bail set at more than $2 million.
