Hemet Museum celebrates Mary Frances Kennedy Fisher Day
Hemet Museum, located at Hemet Santa Fe Depot, will host a free event on Saturday, Feb. 25, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., to honor famous writer MFK Fisher, who lived in the Hemet area early in her career and wrote some of her most famous books here. The event will feature speakers, and Fisher’s books will be available for browsing. Light refreshments available. For more information call (951) 929-4409.

MSJC & Western Science Center Spring 2017 Lecture Series “Dissent”
The topic of “Dissent” will be examined from scientific, historical and literary perspectives at the upcoming lecture series hosted by Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC) and the Western Science Center (WSC). The events will be held at the WSC Theater at 2345 Searl Parkway in Hemet starting at 7 p.m. WSC members get in for free; students with school ID pay $5; entrance fee for everyone else is $8. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. –– seating is limited.
March 2, will feature “Science Will Always Dissent,” with Michael Plotkin, MSJC Biology Department.
April 6: “The Power of Entertainment: Overt and Covert Dissent in Classical Greek Theater,” with Herbert Alarcon, MSJC History Department.
May 4: “Milton’s Literature of Dissent: Pursuing Freedoms in Pre-Restoration England,” with Rebecca Coleman, MSJC English Department.
