There are a lot of things I like to do on Easter Sunday. I will wake up early. I will get my children dressed and ready to go to church. I will be sure to grab their Easter baskets for the egg hunt on the church property after our morning service. I will make sure my phone is fully charged to take hundreds of pictures. I will be fully prepared for the day as a father of two toddlers. Yet, that is not why I love Easter Sunday.
I love Easter Sunday for many reasons, and I will share with you three reasons why I truly love Easter Sunday.
First, I love Easter Sunday because Jesus conquered death. Romans 14:9 says, “For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.” My savior is alive. My savior conquered death. I do not fear death because I trusted Jesus as my savior. He is my hope for Heaven. He is my hope for eternity in that special place.

For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.”
– Romans 14:9

Second, I love Easter Sunday because I have a place to glorify him. Jesus deserves every breath I take to glory in him. I glorify his name with my life, service and dedication to the church. Jesus established the church. Jesus died for the church. Jesus deserves my dedication to the church. What is the church? It is us, gathered together to worship him. At our church, I have the opportunity to glorify him on Easter Sunday for what he did.
And last, I love Easter Sunday because it gives me a family to honor my savior with. Jesus, as I mentioned, established the church. He gave me a family of individuals who have also trusted in him. A family of people who also want to glorify his name. About 400 of us gather every Sunday. I love my church family. We have a unique group of people who love, serve, give and strive together for the cause of Christ. We grow together. We love together. We serve our savior together.
Simply put, I love Easter Sunday because of Jesus. Jesus made everything so sweet and tender. Jesus made everything so wonderful. I love Easter Sunday because of Jesus. It is that simple. I hope you do as well. God bless.
