Air rescue aids injured paraglider

A■ By Mary Ann Morris / Editor paraglider’s peaceful flight through San Jacinto ended up with a detour to the hospital after he crashed in a remote area near Soboba Soaring at the base of the San Jacinto mountains on Sunday, May 21. An air rescue crew from Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department was called at about 10:30 a.m. to rescue the paraglider, who suffered serious injuries, including a broken elbow, according to Darrel Wood, owner of the property that Soboba Soaring operates on.
