■ By Melissa Diaz Hernandez / Reporter Approximately 2,600 veterans are buried at the San Jacinto Valley Cemetery and several veterans groups will be honoring those who sacrificed all. The cemetery office will be open to the public all weekend for family lot location assistance. On Saturday, May 27, beginning at 6 a.m., cemetery staff and Hemet ROTC will place an American flag on each veteran’s grave. That same day starting at about 12:30, beginning with a small ceremony in front of the cemetery office, American Legion Post 848 from San Jacinto will place a carnation on each veteran’s grave.
