Four, including two teenage girls, apprehended after stolen vehicle pursuit

our people, including several juveniles, were arrested after leading City of Hemet police on a short pursuit in a stolen car Monday evening, June 12. At the end of the chase, the four occupants fled on foot into an apartment building. All four were apprehended – the minors released to their parents and the adults were reportedly arrested. The car stolen from the Moreno Valley Area, was later returned to the owner. The incident started around 10:10 pm, when an officer spotted a black Toyota Prius on Acacia Avenue without its lights on. The officer attempted a traffic enforcement stop on the Toyota. The driver of the vehicle who hasn’t been named yet refused to yield and continued driving westbound on Acacia Ave. The authorities initiated a vehicle pursuit during which the driver of the “blacked-out” vehicle fled recklessly through the darkness with no lights and with no regard for other citizens. During the pursuit the vehicle sped as high as 60 MPH in residential areas failing to stop for posted signs or red lights. About one minute into the high speed pursuit, the stolen car headed into the west entrance of the Shadow Canyon Apartments on Acacia Ave. After exiting the complex the driver re-entered the property at which time the occupants leaped from the vehicle and fled. Two female juveniles were apprehended almost immediately, while the two men fled deeper into the complex and were quickly apprehended after stolen vehicle pursuit.
