■ By Mary Ann Morris / Editor You aren’t seeing things. The new traffic signal at the southbound State Highway 79/Gilman Springs Road off-ramp near San Jacinto is now operational. The $1.2 million project, which Caltrans began May 8, includes the addition of a through lane in each direction. The ramp has standard 8-foot shoulders. An invitation for bids has been sent out for the project to install a traffic signal and lighting on the northbound ramps at Gilman Springs Road and State Highway 79. After a vendor is selected, the project is estimated to take 35 working days.
