Diane Villegas, a 16-year-old in the 11th grade, attends River Springs Hemet Student Center on Girard Street. She has been attending River Springs charter schools since the seventh grade.
“My parents chose this school for me for a better learning experience and to be more secure,” said Diane, who enjoys painting, because “it sends my mind to a different place where I can be creative and no one will judge me. I usually get ideas from the people around me and from such famous painters as Pablo Picasso and Vincent Van Gogh.”
This is her first year painting. To paint, she works with hair brushes, acrylic paint, oil paint, pastels and, most important, a pencil and an eraser! Her favorite subject in school is English. Besides art, she enjoys music, theater, cosmetics and volleyball.
