“Women Strong” lecture and vision board
Stronger women equal a stronger community. “Women Strong” of Inland Valley Baptist Fellowship invites San Jacinto Valley women to a free event on Saturday, Oct. 14, at 2700 W. Johnston Ave. in Hemet (next to Mary Henley Park). Free breakfast and lunch. Speakers will focus on how to be a strong woman in the community, how to be strong in family life, and strength of vision for the future.
“Souls and Goals” ministry will demonstrate how to create a vision board. Materials are free, and each attendee can start her own board. Breakfast begins at 8:30 am. Speakers and activities from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Music, gifts and door prizes. After lunch, attendees may select items at the “She Shall Rejoice” boutique. Celebrate Recovery meets every week at the following locations: Mondays, 6:30 p.m., San Jacinto Assembly of God, 300 W. First St., San Jacinto; Tuesdays, 6 p.m., Hemet Christian Assembly, 602 St. John Place, Hemet; Tuesdays, 7 p.m., Community Christian Church, 41762 Stetson Ave., Hemet; Saturdays, 6 p.m., Hemet Valley Baptist Church, 1480 N. Kirby St., San Jacinto.


Peter Pan at MSJC
See how Peter Pan and Wendy fare in “Peter/Wendy,” in Jeremy Bloom’s lyrical interpretation of the darker themes of the J.M. Barrie original. Performance dates/times are as follows: 7:30 p.m. Oct. 13 and 14; 2:30 p.m. Oct. 15. General admission $8, seniors $7, students and veterans are $5. Free Hebrew reading crash course
A Hebrew reading crash course is available for beginners and intermediates at Temple Beth Am in San Jacinto. There are five Saturday courses from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Oct. 7 to Nov. 4. The course, sponsored by the National Jewish Outreach Program, provides an introduction to the Hebrew language. Materials are free. Enrollment (RSVP) required. Light refreshments provided. Caregiver Support Group
Prince of Peace Lutheran Church will host an eight-week Caregiver Support Group on Wednesdays, Oct. 11 through Nov. 29 from 3 – 4:30 p.m. Meetings will be facilitated by Linda Caricato Capps, MS, GC-C. Bereavement Group

Hemet Fire Department hosts open house
Join the Hemet Fire Department as they open their doors to the public Saturday Oct. 14 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Hemet Fire Station 1, 220 N. Juanita, Hemet. Fire safety displays, an antique fire engine, rescue demonstrations, Mercy Air helicopter, snow cones and a hands-on safety trailer. Free admission.


Hemet Senior Computer Club
The club meets the third Monday of every month from 10 a.m. – noon at Valley-Wide Valle Vista Recreation Center. The club is open to anyone in the Hemet/San Jacinto area who would like to learn and share knowledge of computers, tablets, smartphones, etc. Valley-Wide Recreation Center, 43935 E. Acacia Ave., Hemet.
