Casa Loca: Insane Asylum Haunt

Troupe of Lost Souls Entertainment and the San Jacinto Chamber of Commerce present “Casa Loca” mental hospital haunt from Oct. 25 – Oct. 31 from 7 – 10 p.m., Farmer’s Corner, 2575 S. San Jacinto St., San Jacinto (at Menlo Ave). Admission is $10 per person. “Casa Loca” is directed by Rick Baker. A free haunted house for kids 11 years and younger will run on Friday, Oct. 27 from 3:30 p.m. – 6 p.m. only during the Candy Corner event. For more information, please call 323-328-3618.

Hemet West Wednesday Night Senior Dance Schedule

October 25 – Rhonda and Showdown / Halloween theme.
These dances are open to the public and are held from 6:30 – 9:30 pm. Admission is $5 per person and proper attire is required. Opportunity drawings offer free tickets. Hemet Elementary Fall Festival

Hemet State of the City Address

The Hemet San Jacinto Chamber of Commerce hosts the Hemet State of the City Breakfast. Mayor Linda Krupa will present the state of Hemet on Thursday, Oct. 26 at 7:30 a.m. at the Four Seasons Lodge, 237 Four Seasons Blvd., Hemet. $25 per person includes breakfast. Caregiver Support Group

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church will host an eight-week Caregiver Support Group on Wednesdays, Oct. 11 – Nov. 29 from 3 – 4:30 p.m. Meetings will be facilitated by Linda Caricato Capps, MS, GC-C. MSJC’s Veterans Day Remembrance events

MSJC will host two events. One on Wednesday, Nov. 8 from 2 – 4 p.m. at the San Jacinto Campus, 1499 N. State St., San Jacinto. The second event will be on Thursday, Nov. 9 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Menifee Valley Campus, 28237 La Piedra Road, Menifee. EMWD public hearing on water and sewer rates

Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) will conduct a public hearing on Nov. 15 at 9 a.m. The EMWD Board of Directors will conduct a public hearing to consider changes to the water and sewer rate structures and rates. The proposed changes are based on a cost of service study that was completed and adopted by the Board in March 2017. Any customers or property owners may appear at the hearing to make comments regarding the proposed change. To file an opposition, property owners and tenants of real property who are directly liable to pay water bills may submit a written proposal. Written protests may be mailed or delivered in person to Eastern Municipal Water District, Attention: 2017 Proposed Rates, P.O. Box 8300, Perris, Ca. 92572-8300. Protests must include your name, parcel number and/or service address and your signature. All written protests must be received prior to the conclusion of the public hearing. Hemet Senior Computer Club

The club meets the third Monday of every month from 10 a.m. – noon at Valley-Wide Valle Vista Recreation Center. The club is open to anyone in the Hemet/San Jacinto area who would like to learn and share knowledge of computers, tablets, smartphones, etc. Valley-Wide Recreation Center, 43935 E. Hemet Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group

The group meets the second Tuesday of every month from 2 – 3:30 p.m. at The Simpson Center.
