Point of View

■ Calistra Hawkins, AGE 14 / Contributed

in my eyes,
i see trees
destroyed and small
in the forest,
with no movement at all.
i see green grass beat up from shoes
and a pond with nothing but scum, almost like green ooze.
i want to see my eyes through your point of view,
why do my eyes remind you of the trees,
big and tall?
or the forest,
longing for all.
why do they remind you of spring?
the fresh green grass peeking through
after a winter of snow
and tadpoles making ripples in a pond,
almost on cue.
how do you see things like that?
please, let me see my eyes through you.
