Two solo-vehicle accidents leave drivers deceased

A white pickup truck lost control and overturned Friday night, fatally injuring the driver. He was 73-years-old.

On Friday, Dec. 29, at about 11:45 p.m., City of Hemet Police Officers responded to the area of State Street and Domenigoni Parkway regarding a solo-vehicle collision. The initial investigation indicated the driver of the vehicle was swerving and traveling at a high rate of speed before leaving the roadway. The vehicle overturned and the driver suffered fatal injuries.
On Sunday, Dec. 31, at about 11:21 p.m., City of Hemet Police Officers responded to the area of Lyon and Florida Avenues regarding a vehicle collision. The driver of a vehicle was traveling eastbound Florida Ave approaching Lyon Ave, swerved from the roadway, and traveled into a gas station parking lot then collided with a pole. The driver of the vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The identities of both drivers are not being released until the next of kin are notified.
The collisions are being investigated by members of the City of Hemet Police Department’s Traffic Bureau.

Six miles away, and two days apart, the driver of a white GMC pickup truck also lost control of his vehicle and collided into a pole. The man also suffered fatal injuries.
