As advertised, The Historic Hemet Theatre’s “Craziest New Year’s in Town,” was an over-the-top celebration where over 200 cult fans danced to “The Time Warp” during the annual New Year’s Eve showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show. Prop bags filled with squirt guns, toilet paper, noisemakers, playing cards, confetti and more were distributed at the door — all part of the fun for the 1975 cult classic film.
Dozens of Rocky “virgins” came forward to have their forehead branded with a lipstick “V” during the pre-show orientation. The most bizarre costumed contestants were awarded cans of Silly String by the “shadow cast” that lead the craziness, providing an orientation for the use of the props and the proper execution of “The Time Warp” dance.
The night ended with a champagne toast at midnight and a unanimous cheer to return next year to do it all again.
Meanwhile, the start of the new year brought the start of the new Tribute Mania Concert Series.

Season One starts with a tribute to The Beatles by “Britain’s Finest” on Saturday Jan. 13. One of the most authentic Beatles tribute bands to emerge in the last 20 years, they have gained international attention for their hauntingly accurate recreation of all of the iconic eras in Beatles history.
“Britain’s Finest” was featured twice on AXS TV’s “World’s Greatest Tribute Bands” and multiple times on the nationally syndicated radio show, “Breakfast with The Beatles” with host Chris Carter. CBS LA declares the group, “As close to the real deal as you may ever find in this lifetime.” Their good looks, witty personality, and amazing stage performances include three costume changes representing every era of The Beatles’ career.
The Historic Hemet Theatre will host “The Complete Beatles Experience” Saturday, Jan. 13 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $22 presale and $25 the day of the show. Ticket sales are selling fast, but are expected to still be available until the day of the show.
