On Saturday Jan. 13, the Historic Hemet Theatre popped the cork off the new year with its first concert of the 2018 Season One concert series. Returning to HHT for the third time were “Britain’s Finest,” with their amazing tribute to The Beatles.
Each time the group returns, the crowd seems a bit louder and more enthusiastic. This time, the excitement was even more wild; whenever the band would have the audience take over the chorus of a song, the volume nearly matched the amplified sound from the band. Fans ranging from ages 3 to 80+ filled the dance floor for most of the concert. Slow songs were particularly popular, pulling couples from their seats into each other’s arms.
Afterward, the band members spent 40 minutes in the lobby signing autographs and taking photos with their fans. Many fans took home souvenir t-shirts, drumsticks, buttons, and vinyl records. The band members told fans that HHT is one of their favorite venues — the cheering fans, the great acoustics, the great dance floor, and the wonderful sense of history in the theatre. The fans were unanimous in asking that Britain’s Finest come back again and again.
Meanwhile, ticket sales for the next concert in the series are heating up. “Tribute to Rod Stewart,” featuring tribute band, “Forever Rod,” will hit the stage on Saturday, Jan. 27 at 7:00 p.m. This is a new group for HHT, with Stewart Sher leading the group, as Rod. The event will be a nostalgic journey through all of the classic Rod hits, including “Maggie May,” “Forever Young,” “Some Guys Have All the Luck,” “Rhythm of My Heart” and so many more. Come and relive the music; the passion; the magic of Rod Stewart.
Forever Rod is based in Los Angeles and includes Stewart Sher as Rod, Andrew Carrelos (guitar), Jeff Schofield (guitar, mandolin, vocals), David Druxman (bass, vocals), Jeffrey Bryan Fishman (keyboards, vocals) and Michael Clemens (drums).
Tribute Mania Tickets are $22 presale / $25 day of show. Tickets are selling fast, but are expected to still be available until the day of the show. Other tributes in the series include Lynyrd Skynyrd, Santana, Bob Seger, Fleetwood Mac, Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty.
