The “High School Musical” kids!

The Ramona Bowl will be having sign-ups for the 10th Annual Summer Youth Theater on May 12th at 8 a.m. at the West Valley High School Choir room, 3401 Mustang Way, Hemet. This program is open to students ages 5-18. There is a $50 registration fee due at sign-ups.
This year’s production is “Shrek.” Rehearsals begin June 11 and run Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. – noon.
The performances are July 2 and 3 at 6 p.m. Every child who enrolls will be in the production. Students will learn singing skills, dance techniques and blocking, characterization, projection, and other acting techniques.

The first two weeks of rehearsal will be at West Valley High School, and then move up to the Ramona Bowl, 27400 Ramona Bowl Rd., Hemet. The director is Janet Martin, who directed last year’s very successful “High School Musical.” Musical direction will be by Paul Fults, who is a music teacher for the Hemet Unified School District. Stacey Bailey, who has directed the program for many years, will be the producer.
“Shrek” is the 10th annual summer theater production. The first show was “Annie Get Your Gun” and other productions have included “Peter Pan,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Camp Rock,” “Aladdin,” and “Alice in Wonderland.”
