A Hemet driver apparently mistook the words “fast service” for “drive thru” when she plowed her car through the front window of Milano Nails and Spa at 3000 W. Florida Ave., Monday, May 7. Although metal shards and glass showered the nearly 15 customers inside at 3:45 p.m., no one was seriously hurt, even though one woman was transported from the scene by ambulance, according to owner Long Lam, who said everyone was “extremely lucky.” Apparently the driver thought her car was in reverse when she stepped on the gas but lurched forward and jumped the cement parking stopper. Lam and his staff had the window boarded up, the glass swept up, and were back in business the following day after a challenging clean-up job.
