Who says you need a track in order to stay on-track yourself? San Jacinto Valley Academy, a CIF Division 4 school, doesn’t! Their campus is small and lacks an actual track and field facility, but their track and field team is big on progress even without it. This was evident at the Warrior League finals, the CIF Southern Section postseason and led one Wolf to the CIF masters meet at El Camino College on Saturday May 26.
The boys brought in second place overall in the Warrior League for the Wolfpack, while the ladies went undefeated for the second consecutive season. Their individual figures look like this:

Coach Bob Summers admits having a track team without a track is hard: “We throw on the parking lot. We run around the baseball and softball fields. We hurdle around the baseball and softball fields. We jump around the baseball and softball fields. So basically, it’s a tough time. But the kids… really try hard.”
And some team members have high aspirations, including outgoing senior Kalianna Lesa (a 2017 MVP Spotlight nominee!) who will be throwing for UC Riverside starting in the fall.
