The library and kitchen of the First Presbyterian Church of Hemet, 515 E. Kimball Ave., was severely damaged Sunday, June 24, when a parishioners’ auto accelerator stuck, her car smashed into the building and then careened across the parking lot finally stopping once it smashed through a retaining wall. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the church staff is working with insurance companies to estimate the damage.
