On Saturday Aug. 4, the Historic Hemet Theatre hosted a Tribute to The Eagles featuring the popular cover band Desperado. This was the fourth time that this band has visited Hemet’s historic movie house, each time filling the auditorium with cheering fans.
Tickets for the event were sold out nearly a month before the show. In 2018, 10 of the 14 Tribute Mania events have sold out, but this event was the earliest sell-out since the concert series began in 2016.

The fourth time Desperado visited Hemet’s historic movie house they filled the auditorium with cheering fans yet again.

From the first notes of “Take it Easy” to the last notes of “Get Over It,” the audience cheered each iconic Eagles hit. Every song was an opportunity to sing along, the classic lyrics familiar to everyone in the crowd. Whether a fast rock song or a slow ballad, dozens of couples filled the dance floor throughout the night.
Toward the end of the evening, lead singer Chris Farmer began one ballad by asking audience member Sydney Lodge to come to the front of the stage and announced a special dedication from the love of her life. At the end of the song, Sydney was presented a dozen roses as she danced with her husband, Tom. The bouquet from Crazy Daisies Florist had been a raffle prize at the last concert, which Tom had won.
Season two of the Tribute Mania Concert Series will wrap up on Saturday, August 18 with a Tribute to Abba featuring Abba Fab. Tickets are selling quickly and are likely to be gone before the day of the show.
