Every year the anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attack brings us back to that horrific day. The majority of our students were not alive when this attack took place, but staff and students alike all take time to think about those that lost their lives and are thankful for first responders and military personnel for the sacrifices they have made for our country.
Dartmouth Middle School hosted its fourth annual “9/11 Remembrance” event. Nearly 70 servicemen, women and dignitaries from the City of Hemet, local Fire personnel, Police Department, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Navy, Army, Marines, Air Force, National Guard, American Medical Response and many others were in attendance. Hemet High JROTC cadets presented the colors and the Dartmouth choir sang a variety of patriotic songs. Just as the band was finishing the National Anthem, two World War II planes flew over campus from the March Air Force Base. After the performances dignitaries, first responders, military personnel, and veterans gathered in the multipurpose room to eat breakfast provided by Dartmouth staff.
