A Hemet woman has been arrested after stabbing a 25 year-old man and fleeing the scene last Thursday.
On Sept. 27 at about 6:00 p.m., the Hemet Police Communications Center received a call in reference to a stabbing that occurred in the 1100 block of Rosalia Avenue. The caller advised someone had been stabbed and a female was seen running away from the area. Hemet Police Officers responded to the scene and quickly located a male victim. While being treated, the victim confirmed a female had stabbed him.
Hemet Police officers searched the area and soon located a female that matched the description of the suspect. The officers had also noticed the woman had blood on her. The 18 year-old female was identified as Stephanie Andrea Jackson of Hemet. Jackson was arrested and later transported to local Riverside County Jail. Investigators learned the suspect and the victim knew each other and this incident stemmed from an argument the two had earlier in the day. The weapon was recovered and no one else is being sought at this time in relation to the incident.
The male victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance with a non-life threatening stab wound.
Jackson was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and her bail is set at $10,000. She is currently being held at Larry D. Smith Correctional.
