Last week, the Hemet Police Department Crime Suppression Unit initiated two separate investigations that resulted in the arrests of two San Jacinto residents for prostitution.
An investigation initiated on Oct. 16 led detectives to the 900 block of West Esplanade Avenue in San Jacinto, where a 35 year-old woman named Kristin Gwin was arrested for investigation of prostitution. Gwin was transported to Riverside County Jail and then held on a $2,500 bail.
Then on Oct. 17, Crime Suppression Unit Detectives conducted another prostitution investigation. The investigation led authorities to a motel located in the 600 block of North Ramona Boulevard in San Jacinto, where they arrested 40 year-old Ebony Dillard for investigation of prostitution. Dillard was also transported to Riverside County Jail and held on a $2,500 bail.
Hemet Police Captain Pust made a statement saying, “These investigations are examples of how a Measure U funded unit impacts crime and quality of life issues in the Hemet, San Jacinto Valley.” The Hemet Police Crime Suppression Unit is comprised of a Hemet Police Sergeant and detectives who are funded specifically through Measure U money.
