As part of the recently completed remodel of the San Jacinto Walmart Supercenter at 1861 South San Jacinto Avenue, customers will now have access to a new Walmart “Pickup Tower.” The tower, which functions like a high-tech vending machine and can fulfill a customer’s online order in less than a minute, was on display following a grand reopening ribbon-cutting last week.
To use the tower, customers simply choose from millions of items available on Walmart.com and select the pickup option at checkout. When the item arrives at the local store, an associate loads it into the Pickup Tower and the customer retrieves by scanning a bar code sent to their smartphone. Pickup towers are the latest example of Walmart’s commitment to digital acceleration and innovation, as well as convenience, helping customers save time and shop however, whenever, wherever they want.
In August, the store added Online Grocery Pickup service, which means customers can order Walmart groceries online and pick them up without ever unbuckling their seatbelts. Customers select from up to 40,000 online grocery items and choose the best time to pick up. A Walmart personal shopper loads the groceries into the customer’s car upon arrival – all at no additional cost.

Customers will also enjoy the following store improvements:
– State-of-the-art electronics department with interactive displays that allow – customers to try laptops, tablets, mobile phones and more before purchase.
– Larger assortment of industrial and power tools in hardware.
– Expanded apparel department with new layout.
– Improved layout in produce and bakery, with new 100+ quick meal solutions for busy families.
– Double the number of self-checkouts.
– Upgraded pharmacy with private consultation room and additional service lanes.
– New lights and register added in the cosmetics area.
– Refreshed and expanded Walmart MoneyCenter at the front of the store.

“This remodel serves to provide the San Jacinto community with a more convenient way to get their necessities faster. Online Grocery Pickup and the Pickup Tower are great examples of that,” said Store Manager Abraham Arroyo. “I’m very much looking forward to having the Inland Empire’s senior community experience these new services to help with their everyday tasks.”
