A local, all-Veteran wheelchair soccer team will be competing in a U.S. Power Soccer Association wheelchair competition at the Wheelhouse located on 2860 West Florida Avenue, in Hemet on Mar. 2 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. All players, coaches and team management for Veteran Warriors, the local team, are military veterans and this is the first all-Veteran soccer team to join the U.S. Power Soccer Association nationwide.
Cloverlane Foundation, under the aegis of Gerald Chase, was instrumental in developing the partnership to bring the Veterans Mobility Projects adaptive sport program to be realized. Mr. Chase brought together local non-profit organizations which include Michael Wofford of Empire Mobility, Russell Mills of American League Post 53, and others to make this first-time event a reality.
This family event which is free to spectators includes, in addition to Veteran Warriors, three other teams – SoCal Vaqueros, Glendale Rough Riders and LA Avengers. As far as additional offerings: music, food and raffles, along with a Kid Zone that includes games and more
This event will be filmed for television. If you live within earshot of Hemet, this is a must to attend. It is also an opportunity to show your support for our veterans and the handicapped – those who demonstrate who we are and what we are capable of. Never underestimate the “handicapped.” Remember, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt brought us through the great depression and World War II – from a wheelchair.

Just sayin’.
