On Tuesday, January 24th, 2017, at about 2:47 pm, Hemet Police Dispatch Center received a call from a subject who stated a family member, later identified as Vincent Marples, just called and advised that his girlfriend, 32 year old Cassandra Taylor was deceased. The caller was not able to obtain the whereabouts of Vincent Marples, who refused to provide further information to the caller.
The caller was able to provide a vehicle description and a general area that Vincent Marples frequents. Hemet Police Officers began searching the general area of State St. and Gibble Rd. for a vehicle matching the description provided by the caller. With the assistance of Riverside County Sheriff’s Air Support, a vehicle matching the description was located within some hills just southeast of State St. and Gibble Rd.
Hemet Officers were able to make their way to the vehicle where they located both Marples and Taylor inside the vehicle. Taylor was deceased and Marples was taken into custody for homicide based on initial findings.
Further investigation revealed that an altercation occurred between the two subjects, who were at the above location for some time within the past 24 hours. The altercation resulted in the death of Taylor and no further information will be released at this time.
