“Be still and know that I am God.” This is something you must do; you must quiet your heart to cultivate inner peace. Turn a deaf ear to those anxious thoughts that weigh in upon you, creating pressure and uneasiness. Being still enables you to hear the holy whisper in the midst of the storm saying, “It is I; be not afraid.”
We find peace as we surrender to God’s will for our lives, without regard to either the past or the future… The past is gone, after all, and the future is God’s business: all we have is the present moment to call upon the name of the Lord. Be faithful in the present moment, then, ask for the grace and strength you need for the task at hand. In this way we may experience the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding.
“Behold, God is my salvation (my Yeshua!); I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the LORD God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.” – Isaiah 12:2
The spirit of this age is one of fear mongering, terror, stress, anger, playing the blame game (or the victim game) and so on – and all this is being orchestrated by the enemy (and his agents in “high places”) to impair and even nullify clear thinking, inner peace, hope for the future, happiness, contentment, etc. We must resist the enemy exactly there – by refusing to believe the propaganda and lies of this world and by reaffirming the truth of God.
We can walk in peace that defies the chaos and cowardice of this world by abiding in the light of truth. Whatever will be will be, but we can call upon the name of the Lord in this moment and trust that nothing can usurp or overthrow his power and authority.
Be still, and learn that I am God, supreme over nations, supreme over the earth. – Tehillim (Psalm) 46:11.
