On Saturday Sept. 9, The Historic Hemet Theatre will host the next concert in their Tribute Mania Series – a tribute to country music icon Willie Nelson.
Roger Hegyi as “True Willie” pays tribute to the life and music of one of the world’s most recognizable and distinctive musicians. Hegyi has found a way to reach into the musical soul of Willie Nelson and share it with audiences wherever he performs. Known across the nation as the most authentic and convincing tribute to Willie Nelson, the True Willie Band honors not just the music, but Nelson’s influence on the history of American music.
Hegyi has more than 40 years of experience as a singer and guitarist, performing in small clubs and huge stadiums across the country. The True Willie Band is Hegyi’s lifelong dream, celebrating a musical journey through time with incredible vocals and storytelling with an amazing look-alike and sound-alike performance.
This concert continues the run of successful Tribute Mania concerts at the Historic Hemet Theatre. Last Saturday’s return of Surf’s Up and their tribute to the Beach Boys was nearly a sellout. The audience danced, cheered, clapped and sang along with all of the beach music classics. A special feature for the event was the beach balls that bounced through the auditorium sporadically through the evening.
