Honor and belonging are intentional foci of River Springs Hemet Quest Student Center. Sept. 15 was a perfect day for the school’s students to celebrate and honor students’ grandparents and significant elders.
More than 300 people participated, and grandparents or significant elders joined their student at dismissal time, when the campus was transformed into a heart-warming art studio, dessert bar, museum of masterpieces, and photo booths.
Together the students and their special adults shared in creating a meaningful craft, a delightful dessert (or two), silly photo booths that filled the room with giggles, and the opportunity to purchase highly-coveted student art. What a thrill it was to see the many generations joined together as they demonstrate how we all belong and more importantly how everyone has so much to offer.
