On March 30, 2017 Jonathan Trevor Montgomery, age 24, was arrested by Hemet Police on suspicion of two violations of the penal code: inflicting injury on a child, and abuse/endangerment of a child/willfully harm child.
Montgomery pleaded not guilty to the charges. The Riverside County District Attorney entered the case on Aug. 25. A trial settlement conference was set for Oct. 11 at the Banning Justice Center, Department B201. On Nov. 7 a trial readiness conference was continued to Nov. 27.
The District Attorney’s office in Banning declined to comment on the case other than to say, “We will go to trial on Nov. 27.”
Our sources in the Riverside office of the district attorney advised that, “We do not take a case to trial unless we have compelling evidence.”
