Pouring rain was no deterrent for the capacity crowd at the Historic Hemet Theatre on Saturday, March 10. Hundreds of Bob Seger fans packed the house to hear the Sam Morrison Band perform their “Turn The Page” Tribute.
Through the years, the patrons at HHT have gained a reputation in the band community for their warmth and enthusiasm. This band had heard rumors about the cheering crowds in Hemet, but they were stunned to experience it for themselves.
One band member exclaimed, “This was the best time ever!”
A woman named Cindy, who follows the band to every venue in southern California, said the concert was “through the roof” with fans filling the dance floor from the first song to the last. Fans and band alike left pleading for a return engagement.
Next up in the Tribute Mania Concert Series will be a tribute to Fleetwood Mac on Saturday, March 24. The band, Mirage, filled the theatre last June with rave reviews and this return visit will certainly sell out.
“Visions of Fleetwood Mac” captures both the look and sound of Fleetwood Mac live in concert. Lead Singer Michelle Tyler and her band (formerly Bella Donna) won accolades as one of AXS TV’s “World’s Greatest Tribute Bands.” Tyler has even earned praise from Stevie Nicks for the band’s recreation of the classic hits of Fleetwood Mac.
Mirage is Michelle Tyler (vocals) as Stevie Nicks, Bruce Lawrence (guitar, vocals) as Lindsey Buckingham, Carla Buffa (keyboards, vocals) as Christine McVie, Bob Weitz (bass) as John McVie, and Richard Graham (drums) as Mick Fleetwood.
Showtime for all Tribute Mania concerts is 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. Tickets are $22 presale and $25 day of show. Other tributes in the current series include Bruce Springsteen (April 14) and Tom Petty (March 28).
HHT also features classic films for just $5 every Monday and Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. Coming up on Monday, March 19, “Mohawk” (1956) starring Scott Brady, Rita Gam, and Neville Brand and on Tuesday, March 20, “One Rainy Afternoon” (1936) starring Francis Lederer, Ida Lupino, and Hugh Herbert.
