On Teacher Appreciation Day (May 8), the Sierra Dawn Rotary Club showed their appreciation to Jacob Wiens Elementary teachers and staff by cooking up a pancake breakfast in their honor.
This is not the first time the rotary has been there for the school. The Sierra Dawn Rotary Club provided school supplies at the beginning of the school year, donated coats and jackets in the fall, and donated shoes for all the students last school year.
The Sierra Dawn Rotary Club is a satellite club of the Hemet Sunset Rotary Club. Jacob Wiens is not the only recipient of the group’s generosity.
The Sierra Dawn Rotary Club, in conjunction with the Sunset Rotary Club, has done numerous projects for the residents of Sierra Dawn Estates and the community.
They have pulled weeds for some residents and painted the red curbs in the parks. They also did a 1950s sock-hop to help raise money for the Ramona Bowl Americana Trail, and an Easter Spring Fling with the San Jacinto Valley Academy Interact Club as a fundraiser for the high school students.
The Sierra Dawn Rotary Club is open to anyone and is accepting new members. For anyone interested in more information, please contact Pat Wilkison at 951-658-1867.
