Mt. San Jacinto College hosts Amazon hiring events

Wednesday Night Dances at Hemet West
In July and August, the following bands will be playing for the popular senior Wednesday Night Dances at Hemet West, 5001 W. Florida Ave., Hemet.

July 25 Punch and Judy. Roaring Twenties theme.
Aug 1 American Made.
Aug 8 Rhonda and Showdown. Western theme.
Aug 15 Rainbow Cottage. Hawaiian Luau theme.
Aug 22 Ron and Diane.
Aug 29 Country Sounds.
The Wednesday night dances are from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. Admission is $6 per person, proper attire is required, and alcohol is not allowed. Opportunity drawings offer free tickets. Tables will have snacks, pitchers of water, and freshly brewed tea and coffee is available. For further information about these dances, contact Kathy Perry at 951-692-0891.

Hemet Historic Theatre
Tribute Mania concerts are in season including tributes to The Eagles Aug. 4, and Abba Aug. 18. Showtime for all Tribute Mania concerts is 7 p.m. and doors open at 6:15 p.m. Tickets are $22 presale and $25 the day of the show.
HHT also features classic films for only five dollars every Monday and Tuesday evening at 7 p.m.

Ticket office hours are Monday thru Friday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets are also available at the Downtown Deli, 113 N Harvard St and the Harvard Street Music Exchange, 134 S Harvard St.

Hemet Senior Computer Club
The club meets the third Monday of every month from 10 a.m.–noon at Valley-Wide Valle Vista Recreation Center. The club is open to anyone in the Hemet/San Jacinto area who would like to learn and share knowledge of computers, tablets, smartphones, etc. Valley-Wide Recreation Center, 43935 E. Acacia Ave., Hemet.

Celebrate Recovery meetings
Celebrate Recovery meets are held every week at the following locations:
Mondays, 6:30 p.m., San Jacinto Assembly of God, 300 W. First St., San Jacinto. Tuesdays, 6 p.m., Hemet Christian Assembly, 602 St. John Place, Hemet. Tuesdays, 7 p.m., Community Christian Church, 41762 Stetson Ave., Hemet. Saturdays, 6 p.m., Hemet Valley Baptist Church, 1480 N. Kirby St., San Jacinto.

Hemet Public Library
The following activities are held at the Hemet Public Library, 300 E. Latham Ave.

• Bark for Books: First Friday of every month from 4–5 p.m. Practice reading skills by reading out loud to certified therapy dogs!
• Book Club: Director’s Bookshelf meets the third Thursday of every month at 1 p.m. in the director’s office.
• Diamond Valley Writers Guild: meets the fourth Saturday of every month from 9:30–11:30 a.m.

Widowed Persons Activities Club
Monthly meetings are held at 1:30 p.m. on the second Friday of each month at the Simpson Center, 305 E. Devonshire Ave., Hemet (behind the library). The group often has keynote speakers on topics of interest to members. The club has 50/50 drawings, card bingo, etc. To ensure a good fit, prospective members are encouraged to try up to three activities before joining. Jack in the Box Car Cruise
This Car Cruise’s wheels keep on turning, so if you want to roll on in with your ‘roadrunner’ or just see what the neighbors are driving, you’re invited! The Car Cruise happens each Friday night at 7 p.m. For more info, you can call the Inland Empire Cruisin’ hotline at (866) 924-4490.
Also, an upcoming Lowrider Style Car Show will be held in San Jacinto on September 15. Food, raffles, and music will be plentiful for enthusiasts. Awards will be given to the best entries from each decade, both two-and four-wheeled. For info, call Robert Sepulveda at (951) 665-9498.

FREE 55+ Friendship Craft group meets every Friday 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Salvation Army, Palm and Acacia in Hemet. Join us for some fun, fellowship and FREE Crafts.
