Off-road quad driver killed near San Jacinto

A San Jacinto man has died after being ejected from a Yamaha quad while riding in a neighborhood south of Soboba Country Club on Saturday, July 21.
The San Jacinto Police Department responded to reports of a traffic collision near the 1000 block of Soboba Road. The accident occurred within the cul-de-sac of Verona Avenue and Messina Drive which is a neighborhood adjacent to the The Country Club at Soboba Springs in San Jacinto.
When first responders arrived, they immediately found the rider, who was later identified as 33-year-old Jose Sanvicente Jr., according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Coroner reports.
Officers said Sanvicente was driving a Yamaha off-road quad traveling north on Verona Avenue. The quad struck a curb at the end of a cul-de-sac and was launched over an embankment. The quad landed in a parking lot, and Sanvicente was ejected. Sanvicente succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
