Last Tuesday, Hemet Police Investigations Bureau tracked down and arrested two suspects involved in a robbery that took place outside the Hemet Valley Mall on July 21. Both men were taken into custody after allegedly stealing someone’s most precious cargo – a pair of puppies.
On a Saturday evening, July 21, two male English bulldog puppies were forcefully taken from their owner outside of the Hemet Valley Mall, located in the 2300 block of Florida Avenue, by Quail Valley residents Samuel Ramirez, 20, and Sergio Ramirez, 18.
Hemet Police were able to track down and arrest the two men in Riverside on July 24. When they were initially apprehended, both suspects refused to provide police detectives the whereabouts of the puppies. Samuel and Sergio Ramirez were charged with robbery and conspiracy and were both later transported to Riverside County Jail. Samuel’s bail was set at $65,000 and Sergio’s at $60,000. Samuel was also charged for violating his probation.

After following up on information obtained during the arrests, Hemet Police Investigations Bureau officers were ultimately led to a motel in Sun City. Detectives located both puppies and returned them to their owner, Sarah Adams.
Adams was all smiles as she posed with fellow detectives and Hemet Police Chief Robert Webb upon being reunited with her two puppies at the Hemet Police Department.
