On Monday, a person died while paragliding at the Soboba Paragliding and Speed Flying in San Jacinto.
During the Labor Day holiday, a paragliding adventure turned deadly within the 900 block of Soboba Road. Riverside County Fire was initially dispatched to the scene to aid someone who had been injured at the Soboba Paragliding and Speed Flying.
25 firefighters responded just after 10 a.m. and hiked up the mountain to rescue the victim.
Officials located the person who was in critical condition and immediately began performing lifesaving measures. Despite paramedic efforts, the victim succumbed to their injuries and died at the scene.
The body was airlifted from the mountain and taken into custody. The identity of the victim is pending on the investigation and notifying the next of kin.
No one else was reported injured in relation to the crash and investigators are looking into the cause of the fatal incident.
