On Saturday, Oct. 13, from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., visitors to the mile-high artist community of Idyllwild will experience the magic that happens when galleries, artists, and Southern California wineries join forces to raise money for art scholarships, public art, theatre, dance, music and many other community events. Nestled in a mountain valley surrounded by majestic mountains, Idyllwild is only two-hours from Los Angeles and San Diego, and less than an hour from the desert communities.
The Annual Art Walk & Wine Tasting, presented by the Art Alliance of Idyllwild, a 501(c)(3) organization, draws over a thousand visitors annually. With deep blue skies and towering pine trees, the town is the perfect setting for a day of art mixed with an afternoon of great wine from 20 Southern California wineries.
Art lovers are invited to start their great art hunt on Oct. 13 at 11 a.m. by visiting galleries and art hot spots that will be set up around the center of town. The “Art Walk” is free to the public and maps will be available at the Courtyard Gallery, 54240 Ridgeview Drive to start everyone on their journey. As guests stroll the tree lined streets, they will experience the simple beauty of small town mountain living and indulge in what Idyllwild has to offer.
Wine enthusiasts are invited to enjoy the “Art of Wine” in the afternoon from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. when 20 Southern California wineries from Temecula, Warner Springs, Escondido, Fallbrook, Julian, and Idyllwild share a selection of great wines at art locations around town. The fall weather makes walking from location to location a fun experience, but shuttles will also be available to transport guests between venues.
This is the 21st annual event. Ticket prices are $35 – $45 each with a special price of $30 – $40 each for groups of 15 or more. Members of the Art Alliance of Idyllwild also receive discounted ticket prices. If any tickets are available by Oct. 13, they will be $50 each regardless of quantity.
The community is anticipating another sold out year, tickets for the wine tasting are now available online at www.artinidywild.org. A limited number of paper tickets are available now at select locations around Idyllwild, including the Courtyard Gallery, the Town Crier Office and the Spruce Moose.
