A man from San Jacinto has been identified as the motorcyclist in a fatal crash that occurred on Nov. 28 in Perris. The rider was 22 year-old Thomas Llamas.
Last Wednesday evening, Llamas was traveling eastbound down Rider Street going towards Wilson Avenue. At the same time, the other vehicle involved was going westbound down Rider Street and then turned southbound onto Wilson Avenue. The vehicle came directly in front of the motorcyclist’s path and collided. Llamas was ejected from the motorcycle.
When authorities first arrived on scene, they discovered Llamas who had sustained major injuries and the driver of the other vehicle, a 21 year-old San Jacinto resident, with little to no injuries. According to a sheriff’s investigation, the driver cooperated with authorities and neither drugs nor alcohol were factors in the crash.
According to a Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner release, Llamas was transported to the Riverside University Health System Medical Center in Moreno Valley. Unfortunately, he was pronounced deceased at 1:08 a.m. after succumbing to his injuries.
There was a temporary closure of the intersection, which was then reopened hours later once the road was cleared.
This is still an active and ongoing investigation with the Perris Police Department. Anyone with more information on the collision is encouraged to contact Deputy Rabago at (951) 210-1000.
