The Barnaby Finch Band will be performing a musical tribute to Dave Grusin on Saturday, Dec. 22, at 7 p.m. at The Diamond Valley Arts Center (DVAC), located at 123 North Harvard Street, in Hemet’s historic downtown.
Mr. Dave Grusin, giant of film music, a wonderful composer and pianist, won an Oscar for The Milagro Beanfield War and a Grammy for Havana. He has written many beautiful scores including The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, Three Days of the Condor, Tootsie, On Golden Pond and Heaven Can Wait.
Mr. Barnaby Finch is the musical director of the band and will be on the piano. Joining Barnaby will be Jeff Olson on drums, Craig Yancey on saxes and flute, and virtuoso guitarist Sean Longstreet all the way from LA. Bill Saitta is on bass, and a special guest on synth and strings will be Idyllwild Arts student Michael Dunaevsky. Some of Dave’s gorgeous film music and groove from his acclaimed studio recording will be played. Also some lovely Christmas tunes will be performed.
General admission is $20, DVAC members is $15 and students is $10. Tickets are available online at www.thedvac.org, at DVAC (open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.) or at the door.
