Cristina Montes Mateo set to perform at Crossroads Baptist Church

Internationally known harpist extraordinaire Cristina Montes Mateo will be performing at Crossroads Baptist Church on Sunday, Jan. 13.
This concert is sponsored by the Hemet Community Concert Association. If you have had the opportunity to attend any of HCCA’s concerts, you have come to expect a diversified and entertaining musical event.
The association is made up of experienced professionals that strive to bring the community a musical experience that will not only entertain, but encourage further development of interest and support of amazing artists. According to internationally renowned opera singer Placido Domingo, Cristina Montes Mateo is “a vivacious performer of classical pedal harp music.”
Ms. Montes Mateo will be joined by Susan Greenberg, flutist with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra for 36 years, in a program of music from France and Spain. Montes Mateo was a recent winner in the Beverly Hills Auditions. This concert is a unique opportunity to experience classical harp music in a local setting.
Montes Mateo has won innumerable harp competitions, performed in world festivals and performed for the King and Queen of Spain. She plays with a number of orchestras such as Ensemble Orchestral de Paris, Philharmonic Orchestra of Málaga, Francisco de Miranda Orchestra, Venezuela, Orchestra of the Theatre für Niedersachsen Hannover, Germany, or Santiago de Chile Orchestra renboim. She is one of the leading harpists of her generation throughout the world.
She is currently Solo Harpist at the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana in Palau de Les Arts Reina Sofía. Previously, she was Principal Harp with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. She is also head of Harp Department at the Conservatorio Superior de Música “Joaquín Rodrigo,” Valencia (Spain). Montes Mateo teaches Master classes at Berklee College of Music (2014, 2015, 2016), Birmingham Conservatoire (2015), or Musikhochschule für Musik und Tanz, Cologne (2016). s. Nowadays, she is living in Los Angeles.
The concert will be at the church location at 433 South San Jacinto Street in Hemet. Doors will open at 1:30 p.m. and curtain is at 2 p.m. Parking is free and ticket prices are as follows: 2018 -19 Season subscription is $60 (all 5 concerts plus benefits) and individual concerts are $30 (purchased at the door)
Young adults under the age of 22 are admitted free of charge. This will be a concert that may change your perspective on harp music.
