The Cornerstone Church on Girard Street, home of The Vine radio station.[/caption] ■ Chronicle News Staff According to Doc Maranville, general manager of The Vine, the newest up and coming gospel radio station in Hemet is officially on the air! Since the last time the Chronicle spoke with The Vine, it has accelerated its mission of spreading Jesus’ teachings to people in the SWIET Spot! (new name for the SouthWest Inland Empire Towns). The faith conversation continues on 102.5 The Vine. Featured on the air in May were many pastors from the SWIET Spot including pastor John Hansen from CenterPoint church in Murrieta as well as youth pastor James Fransz of Murrieta, who spoke about his new book called “Faith in the Middle.” State Sen. Mike Morrell (R-Dist. 23) shared his thoughts from Sacramento with The Vine’s listeners. San Jacinto Mayor Crystal Ruiz filled in listeners about the God discussion with President Trump and the weekly series began with Pastor Michael Burger called “People of the Bible.” The Vine’s first community event took place on May 26 at the Lake Elsinore Outlet Mall. Thousands of people came to watch extreme motorsports in the parking lot. Over 60 vendors and nonprofit organizations were present as well. The Vine was featured both on and off stage as well as via live stream videocast over the internet. Attendees were treated to praise and worship in many different music styles including hip hop, dance, traditional, and classic with a special appearance from Bryan Duncan, a contemporary Christian music artist and member of Sweet Comfort Band. Over 22 veterans, first responders, and military personnel were honored at the event along with nonprofits. 102.5 The Vine was honored for community service. “God is using The Vine to reach thousands of people in the Southwest Inland Empire with his love for them,” says Maranville. “People who were far from God are drawing near to him,” he says. “It’s a message worth spreading!” Says Maranville, “We hope you enjoy listening to the new 102.5 The Vine. We pray you are being encouraged and inspired by the music and the message.” Readers with questions or those who wish to contribute to 102.5 The Vine, located at 26089 Girard St., Hemet, may call 951-708-0220, write info@1025thevine.org, or visit www.1025thevine.org.
