High Fitness Celebrates Three Years With High Energy Party

High Fitness with Riss and Miss celebrated its third anniversary on Tuesday, September 28 at the Old Logandale School where the fitness class is usually held. This high-energy fitness group has become a sensation and a growing fad amongst the women (and even a couple of men) in Moapa Valley.

“We started each one of us doing fitness classes separately,” said Melissa Hardy (the ‘Miss’ in the Miss and Riss partnership). “We realized that we were not doing as well separately but decided to combine three years ago together and it has really grown and become a success.”

The business was started by Hardy and Marissa Moss (Riss) to bring people, especially women, together to have fun and exercise and celebrate success in fitness and health.

Last week, the group got together and exercised with pump-up music for over an hour. Then a full drawing of prizes were distributed featuring High Fitness appare, exercise drinks, Sunwarrior Protein Powder, fitness pants, a beautiful gold necklace, athletic shoes, and so much more. The grand prize was a “Golden Ticket” which awarded a one year free membership for the High Fitness classes.

Each attendee got a goody gift bag that included a protein bar, high energy Mexican caffeinated Hot Chocolate drink mix, exercise drink mixes, a high energy cookie from Hole Foods Bakery in Mesquite, and more.

On this celebration night, there were over 60 women in attendance with 1 man. They rocked out to hip hop, rock, alternative, pop and more in genres of music.

“We average about 35-40 people on a usual regular class night,” said Hardy. “Tonight was amazing to have as many people as we did. We had so much fun!”

“The goal has always been in the past to uplift women, have fun, and to be silly,” added Hardy.
“Our new goal is to sweat and smile!” Marissa Moss chimed in with a smile of her own.

Both Hardy and Moss confirmed how much of a fun journey it has been to have this organization and to help other women love their own bodies.
“All of these women are absolutely amazing!” said Moss. “We come here regardless of age, body type, etc. to just have fun and support each other.”

High Fitness offers multiple classes. Currently the program offers a High Fitness class on Tuesdays at 7:00 pm and then on Saturdays at 8:00 am.

On Thursdays they do a sculpt class at 7:00 pm. This class is more about toning the muscles and uses light weights and other exercise equipment.

“We are so excited to have been around for 3 years and look forward to another year,” said Hardy. “We really want to welcome anyone who would like to come out and be part of this uplifting women and supporting each other in health and fitness.”

Both Hardy and Moss really wanted to express a huge thanks to all of their sponsors for the big celebration as they ended their workout with a confetti dance.
