Dattilo Ristorante Italiano is a family-owned and operated business.
[/caption] ■ Arlene Lehtone / Contributed Jesse Torres is back in Hemet! A local talent and public figure, Jesse will entertain us by bringing back the charm of the past to the present. In demand as a popular singer in the San Jacinto Valley, he has performed in many venues of the city to sold-out audiences, singing anything from Frank Sinatra to Paul Anka, and specializing in singing the music of the great crooner’s. Jesse will be performing every Friday, from 6:30–9 p.m., at Dattilo Ristorante Italiano, 2288 E. Florida Ave. (between Yale and Columbia), in Hemet.. A family-owned and operated business, the Dattilo family works together, and cook their phenomenal food with love and care. Everything is made from scratch (bread, pasta, lasagna, ravioli, manicotti, salad dressings and tomato sauce). All pasta dishes and sauces are made fresh to order, and Maria’s bread dough is cooked in their wood-burning oven, the old-fashioned way. Their son, Marcantonio, cooks with Maria, while Monalisa makes pasta and desserts. Joseph makes sure that everyone is happy. Jesse Torres is back![/caption] Adding to the pleasant ambiance, a skylight lets in light for full appreciation of the colorful hand-painted murals. A magnificent fountain in the room’s center was created by a talented French sculptor, Mathurin Moreau (1822-1912), who was born in Dijon (where Dijon mustard comes from), France. An expert in portraying feminine grace, his work was first exhibited in the Salon in 1848. He received a Medal of Honor in 1897. Moreau also contributed decorative sculptures to the Opera, and the Hotel de Ville in Paris. Come on out and partake in a delicious dinner in this attractive restaurant, and enjoy the music of the popular entertainer, Jesse Torres.
