The Valley Chronicle - Follow-up: Plane Crashes Near Residential Homes in Hemet

Hemet, CA — On Tuesday, June 7 at approximately 9:35 am, the Hemet Public Safety Communications Center began receiving calls regarding a plane crash near the intersection of Warren Road and Mustang Way. When officers arrived on scene, they located a single-engine, fixed-wing aircraft that had collided into a block wall neighboring a residential home. The plane was engulfed in flames and the fire was quickly extinguished by the Hemet Fire Department and CAL FIRE crews.

The pilot, and sole occupant of the aircraft, survived the crash and was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for treatment where he is listed in critical condition. The pilot, whose name is not being released, is a male adult. Residents occupying the residential home neighboring the block wall did not sustain any injuries.

Investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) were notified and responded to the scene to conduct an investigation. Any additional information regarding this incident will be released by the NTSB and/or FAA. Warren Road, between Mustang Way and Simpson Road, will be closed to all traffic for the next 24 to 48 hours while federal investigators process the crash site.
